Production information

The fairy realm is another reality, and is the dimension from which fairies originate.

CharacteristicsEdit

The fairy realm has been described as existing separately from the universe as another reality. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe...) Little is known about the fairy realm's landscape and laws of physics, although it apparently is home to multiple different worlds and lands, such as Oz and the Hollow Forest of Arkhmoor. (LARP and the Real Girl, Slumber Party) It is also known that time runs differently (more slowly) in the fairy realm to how it does on Earth; what is several hours in the earthly realm can be only a matter of minutes in the fairy dimension. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe..., There's No Place Like Home) When a human enters the fairy world, they're apparently left permanently "marked" after they've left. Among the effects of the "mark" from being in the fairy realm are that the marked person can now perceive fairies in the earthly dimension, regardless of whether or not said fairies want them to, and that fairies can now track the scent of the person's soul anywhere. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe...)

AccessEdit

6x9 PortalToAvalon

The tractor beam-esque portal to the fairy realm, used to abduct firstborns from Earth. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe...)

Fairies can be summoned to Earth from the fairy realm by spellwork - one spell can summon a leprechaun to make a deal, so the leprechaun can in turn allow other fairies to come to Earth, and another spell can summon a fairy to Earth and bind it to do the caster's bidding. There is also a reverse-spell, which can banish all fairies brought to Earth by the former spell and send them back to their world. Alternatively, a fairy can teleport back to Avalon at will. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe..., LARP and the Real Girl)

Fairies can also transport humans between the earthly and fairy worlds. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe..., LARP and the Real Girl) When fairies are given free reign over a place on Earth due to a deal between a human and a leprechaun, they can use portals to pursue human firstborns and abduct them to the fairy realm. These portals manifest as bright beams of light, which will pursue their targeted firstborn (cutting down any vegetation they touch in the process), then once the firstborn is caught in the beam, they will vanish into the fairies' home dimension. These portals can also be used to deposit humans from the fairy realm back to Earth. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe...) A fairy can also transport a human with it back to the fairy world. (LARP and the Real Girl)

There seem to be specific ways of being transported from Earth to specific parts of the fairy realm such as Oz - one can enter Oz via whirlpools, tornadoes or the eye of a hurricane, or one could open a portal to Oz by using the key to Oz on a door. (Slumber Party) Highly powerful witches of Oz, such as the Wizard of Oz, were apparently capable of crossing between Earth and Oz through mirrors. (There's No Place Like Home)

Places and areasEdit

AvalonEdit

Avalon is apparently King Oberon's location in the fairy realm from where he rules over the fairies. Marion believed that Avalon was where the firstborn sons abducted from Earth by fairies were taken to service Oberon. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe...)

Probing placeEdit

The fairy realm apparently contains a laboratory or similar location, where firstborns recently abducted to Avalon are taken to be probed and experimented on. (Clap Your Hands If You Believe...)

OzEdit

9x4 OzMain

The Land of Oz, seen through the doorway opened by the key to Oz. (Slumber Party)

Oz is a magic-abundant world which is part of the fairy realm. It has a colourful and mountainous landscape and an orange sky, and it contains the Emerald City, the Yellow-Brick Road, poppy fields and the Wicked Witch's castle. Beings which inhabit Oz include witches, flying monkeys, and possibly other intelligent beings. Oz is presumed to currently be under the rule of Dorothy Baum after the Wizard of Oz's death. (Slumber Party, There's No Place Like Home)

Hollow Forest of ArkhmoorEdit

The Hollow Forest of Arkhmoor is a mystical woodland in the fairy world, which is known to be home to good fairies such as Gilda. (LARP and the Real Girl)
